Default XJR on track

I took my XJR to the track today, great fun! I was surprised how well the car behaved, as I was expecting a lot more body roll and understeer. Didn't have the courage to take those fast corners at proper speeds though. No problems with intercooler temps, and my car has an upgraded lower pulley. Coolers were barely warm to the touch when I returned to the pits. Of course it helped that the weather wasn't too warm, about 60F.

Fun Fun Fun,

Smooth is fast, smooth is fast. Loved hearing the blower whine

If you were to apex a bit later, I see a few opportunities to tie a few of those turns together, you could save some serious time-but you looked like you were doing well and having a good time, which is what it is all about

You're right, that's not a very fast lap, I've driven it quicker with a less powerful fwd Citroën... but that car had active anti-roll system, and weighed maybe 300kg less, so it was a bit easier to control on the limit.

Here's one more lap of blower whine, and taking on an M3.

What fun!

If you were to apex little later/ stay more away from the inside of the turn earlier/have a wider arch, you could get on the gas 1-1.5 seconds sooner every corner (some acceleration makes the rear tires bite), you could be on the gas at the same time that M3 was getting on the gas, even though you would be 4-5 car lengths behind. With your superior acceleration you could squirt by on most of those short straights. This type of driving is still considered very polite and predictable (predictable being safest on any racetrack) to the other drivers as it should be obvious to them while seeing you in their mirrors that they are about to be passed whether they like it or not.

The M3 would be helpless to stop the charge of the mighty XJR Moo Hoo Haa Ahhhhh

Hehe... that's good advice, and I know I can go a lot faster on that track. This was my first time driving on a track with a car this powerful (and this heavy). It took me a lot of concentration just to keep a good safety margin, and not to melt the tires. On the fast corners I was off the gas way before turning in... and notice how I hit the limiter on one spot, because I forgot to select 3rd gear in time.
