ZF5HP24 Pressure regulator Valve
Hello everyone, as a new '99 x308 VDP owner, I been reading about the replacement of the pressure regulator valve to an upgraded version to avoid "A" drum failure. Currently my 308 has 74k and drives beautifully. It's currently having the timing chain tensioner upgrade, and I read on this forum that the pressure regulator valve should be changed to avoid a transmission disaster. My question is, can this be done without removing the transmission, and if so, is it a job a novice could tackle? Also what is the TransGo kit, and would it contain the upgraded pressure regulator valve.
thanks

The TransGo kit is the upgraded valve, it's made in the USA and it's beautifully machined. It is fitted without removing the transmission from the car, however you will have to drain the fluid and drop the valve body. I had mine done by a professional so I was covered in the event of future issues, but if you have the space, kit and time you could try it yourself.
It's worth getting it done and the fluid replaced at the same time, your fluid will no doubt be well overdue being changed at this point in it's life.
