Default Zombie threads...

Anyone noticed a number of old threads being resurrected? My theory is mobile phone versions of this forum and the way they highlight old threads. Desktop is no issue? Who cares lol!

I do seem to see one fairly new member who has drug up a few old ones of late (at least 3 yrs old) and had responded in them. I just kind of had that...WTF thought ....and decided my beer tasted better and to pay attention to it...

I think we go through a cycle (and have been the cause of one back in 2013). New group of guys -- often techs -- buy an old car and begin to fix the thousands of issues that frustrated the previous owner and discover many of the issues have been around since the cars were first introduced; hit search, find a thread and comment without checking the date . . . ).

Second, choice: after three sets of owners and over 100k miles, problems begin to resurface . . . hit search, supra.

Well, is using the search function not what is always advised by the 'old-guard' ...
And yup, thread-dates don't show up using the mobile version, neither do signatures (and car info).

The resurrection of old threads doesn't bother me too much, if there's a point to it. However much of the time it's just a demeaning or aggressive comment composed in a holier than thou fashion. It's important to remember that back in 2010 we didn't know as much as we do now, and many of the older threads were composed during the "discovery" years.

Yes, use the search function by all means. However don't disagree or insult someone over something from 2010 because the knowledge you have now on the subject may not have existed then. We don't want it to turn into YouTube on here!

Using Search and checking a few threads nearly always shows useful answers. There is no point adding any of the same answers to old threads. There is even less point adding a non-solution to an ancient thread - but some people do just that. Maybe they just fail to think?

Too much about the app seems broken.
