Default 1990 XJ40 parts

Today, I went to the JY to pick a Rotary Switch P/N switch from a 1990 XJ40.
While there I picked all of the electronic items from under the passenger side dash together with all of the relays.
I also picked the Signal and Wiper stalks.
Since I do not know whether the parts will work on my 1992 XJ40, I am posting the part #s below.

DBC1154 -DOOR LOCK MODULE
DBC1159 - ?????
DBC5125 - WIPER MODULE
DBC3862 - CRUISE CONTROL MODULE
DBC6328 - TRANSMISSION MODULE. WILL THIS ITEM WORK ON THE 1992? SOME PART SELLERS SAY '88 -92. Some say 1990.
If this item will work on a 1992, I will keep it.
DBC4968 - ECM-BODY PROCESSOR
DBC6352 - ENGINE CONTROLLER.

I searched for DBC1159 and I come up with nothing.
If anyone need any of the above parts, all it would cost you is Shipping

Pretty much ALL the 1990 to 1992 parts are interchangeable.

You know you can check all that crap against the VIN on the Jag Classic parts site, right?

Most sellers are clueless, so don't depend on their "fit or won't fit" advice.

Yes. I will double check parts on the Jaguar Classic Parts site.
I am only interested in DBC6328 - TRANSMISSION MODULE if it will work on my car.
All the rest is up for grabs for anyone who wants them., Just pay shipping.
I took the parts because in a couple of days this car will be crushed.
Other items I removed from the car are;
2 front door glass and the associated parts including the window motor
Stainless trim around the top of the door
Door mirrors
Door lock actuators
Door handles
Hood and trunk struts
Rear door actuators and lock mechanism
Rear lights.(all)
Bulb Failure modules
Misc trim pieces

My 1992 with a build date of 9/1991 had Automatic Transmission Control Module Part # DBC10110 installed from the factory. I replaced it with the revised Part # LMA 2400AA per Jaguar TSB 44-21 (9/94) in an effort to improve shift quality.

I believe I still have the original laying around in storage. I will check and let you know.

Edit: Looks like I actually have two of these hanging around!

If you're interested in one or both, let me know. I am interested in those parts you snagged, too!

I would like to try replacing my attack seatbelt module if one is available. It is to the left of the steering column....
And maybe a throttle position sensor for the 92. I am currently running one from a 94 which I have built an adapter cable to avoid cutting wires since its a different plug. Thanks for the offer.

@NTL; which of the parts listed above are you interested in? I am going to pull my TCM today and check the DBC number and get back to you. Send me a PM.

@ Jerry; I also went after the components for the attack seatbelts but they were already gone.
I have 2 TP sensors, one of which I will keep. You can have the other.
Also, there is a 1990 XJ40 at another breaker yard. I picked up the front door and front fender from that car.
I am going there on Tuesday to pick some other parts. I will see if the attack belt module is there.
I know for sure that the attack belt mechanisms are still in the car.

In my post "HIT AND RUN" I mentioned that the windshield was also cracked.
Contacted 3 companies that do glass replacement and they all tell me they are unable to find the windshield. I think that is BS.
I spoke to the JY yesterday and they are going to get someone to cut the windshield out from the 1990 XJ40 for me. They normally don't do it.
I have to call them back tomorrow(Monday) to find out when I have to go to pick it up.
So, if I do not go on Tuesday, it will be Wednesday.
@ Jerry: Can you give me the exact location of the attack belt module? Under dash driver side?
@ NTL: I tried replying to your PM but the reply is not going through.
You are talking about the pieces on the stainless steel finisher on the back glass, right?

FYI: I think there's an issue with the windshield trim so be extra careful removing yours, it is made from unobtanium and can be damaged easily when you remove the glass.

Yes, The seatbelt module is at the extreme left mounted to the bottom of the dash rail. You just need to remove the knee bolster and the metal backer for that. Thanks again!

Hi sanchez,

About 5 years ago I had the windshield replaced in our '93 and my windshield guy (who is independent and very good) was able to find a new windshield, I believe from either PPG or Pilkington. I'm sure your shops have already checked, but other windshield manufacturers include SGS, Carlite and Safelite.

He was also able to remove and reuse the stainless steel trim and rubber gasket, supplemented with new urethane sealant.

Cheers,

Don

Exactly! Thank you

As for the windshield, I just called my local mom and pop glass repair place a few weeks ago, and got a quote of $325 for the glass and installation. They could get it with or without the shade strip at the top.

Jaguar Classic Parts still has original Triplex windshields available for under $300 the last time I checked, but I’m guessing shipping would be quite hefty!

Check with your local Jaguar dealer or jaguarmerriamparts.com. Jaguar North America may have them in stock in one of their warehouses (New Jersey, Georgia, etc.).
