1991 xj40 front ABS reluctor ring availability.
I decided to check why my ABS light would come on after a short distance. I removed and cleaned the sensors and found that the L/F sensor was damaged and after checking the coil resistance, which was OK, and straightening up the two prongs and refitting the sensor I was unable to get any AC voltage reading when spinning the wheel.
Upon removing the wheel hub I found that the reluctor ring was badly worn down. I knocked it off the hub and took two pictures to show the damage. I have been checking various sites to see if a replacement is available anywhere but it looks like it's obsolete. The scrapyards here in South Africa don't appear to have any Jaguar XJ40's they are stripping so it is unlikely I would locate even a second hand wheel hub.
Does anyone know where I might get a reluctor ring which could be posted to South Africa? Thanks.

It may be of no help but check the Jaguar parts catalogue online for the exact part number.
Knowing Jaguar, it's possible that this part was used on the subsequent model, (the X300) and possibly later cars also ...otherwise maybe look on eBay and if you have to, purchase a used hub assembly?
Of course a good machinist could also make you a new one too.
Good luck,
Larry

Thanks Lawrence, I will try the scrapyards for a used hub and may have to have a ring made, as you suggest.
Don, thanks for the part no. and list of vehicles it fits. That's a big help. I have put the car back together so I can still drive it
Update.
Just been told I must go to Kariba next week on business so the car will have to wait till I return. Should be about three weeks.

A quick google of the part number Don quoted brings up a bunch of hits ...this place has a new one but available only on special order?
