Default 1991 XJ40 Key Set

The Key Set for the XJ40 included 3 Keys :
- JLM1948, black, with light *
- JLM1949, dark green, the Valet Key (didn't open the glove compartment or the boot)
- JLM 1950, black, without light
*JLM1948 was just the structure, it also need the BCB9959 which is the cartridge with battery and bulb.

I imagine there is a difference in the cut of the two black ones (all access) and the dark green one (without glove compartment or boot access).
The difference can only be mechanical as there are no other electric or electronic components on the key.
So, at least, the dark green one as to be cut on a Jaguar dealer.
Correct ?

My Jag came only with the lighted one key. I'm about to do a second key by replicating the first on a 'normal' key store.
But would love to have the Valet key ... but a) there is no Jaguar dealer in Madeira and b) I don't have the key card.

The TIP of the valet key is larger and will not fit fully into the boot or cubby locks.

There is a person in the marketplace section who says they can cut keys. Also, I had keys made by a company called "Triple C" who has a website. You just need to know how to read the cut to tell them.

Thanks jerry_hoback but living in Madeira Island, Portugal that doesn't sound feasible.

There are several companies here who can cut the key copying from an existing one.
Easy to make a new All Access one, little harder to do a Valet one, but they will do it.
Just have to buy/order a new blank ket because although similar to Ford ones, Jaguar is longer and they don't have them on stock.

There are 2 different TIBBE type keys.
The early ones have Eight cuts with 3 different levels of cut.
Later keys have 6 cuts with FOUR different levels of cut. (hence the shorter key)
