1993 XJ-6 Rear doors will not open
Rear doors don't open from inside or outside. Locks and windows seem to function, but it has no effect on the door unlocking mechanism.
My plan of attack so far is to remove the bottom portion of the rear seat and then try to pop off the door panels on the inside, hopefully revealing the mechanics that are broken.
Has anyone ran in to this issue before? I understand it's fairly common problem. Thank you for any information.

UPDATE
The "door not opening from either side" scenario will exist under following conditions.
1. Someone set the child locks on
2. And subsequently the outside door handle plastic link to the mechanism inside failed.
I was able to get my door open and turn the child locks off. Which will allow you to at least open the door from the inside. Once you get the inside door panel off, you have to play with the mechanism and see which one is a door release for the outside. Once you open the door, turn off the child locks, and you're set. I haven't gotten to repairing the outside door handle link (there's barely enough space there to squeeze your hand in to unlock the door). If someone managed to do it, please share.

Hi. Anyone else having problems with the garage door opener? I have a Genie garage door opener and I've tried both methods in the manual and neither seem to work. When I try to link it up using my existing remote the car seems to have received the garage door spring repair chesapeake va signal because when I press the button in the car it will blink rapidly and then stay continuously lit but the garage doesn't open.
The second method mentioned in the manual says to use the program button on my garage door opener unit. I tried that and it never even picks it up.
Any thoughts?
