1994 Jaguar Xj12 SHOWROOM CONDITION For Sale | VAUGHAN ON
Looking for some advice on this car. Ive owned a few different cars, my latest was an e39 m5, but now looking to get into a Jag. Im not particularly afraid of maintaining a car such as this, just wondering if it will make me go completely broke hahaha.
Can anyone pelase give me some advice on this car. What to look for, common issues and repairs, aside from the common things to look for with any used cars.
My family has had a few jags, the first was a 1990 XJS, followed by a 2002 XJR. So I am somewhat familiar with some of the jags foibles.
The car has been for sale for some time, and I have a feeling I would be able to get it substantially cheaper than the asking price (which seems high to me).
Ive also read through the other thread similar to this one, regarding a 1994 xj12, just wondering if there is any new imput or opinions directly relating to the for sale add.
I appreciate any help
Thanks

Price? Hard to say. I'd throw out a $5000 offer and see if it sticks.
It's a bit of an odd situation. Very high end car in great shape....but not an especially popular model. Not that many ever change hands. Pricing of low-demand oddball models that seldom come on the market, in the sub $10,000 price range, is a bit hit and miss.
We've had similar discussions about the later V12 sedan...in the "x300" body style. Even when a very nice one hits the market it struggles at $5000-$6000.
OTOH....
The great cosmetics on this car are a real plus....and a rarity. And they are magnificent cars to drive. If you really like the car it won't matter if you paid $5000 or $6000 or $7000, offer what you think is fair.
If the car turns out to be a turd then $3500 would have been too much, trust me. If you end up delighted with the car and everything is happy happy, then $7000 might seem like a bargain
Cheers
