I can't be the first guy that this happened to, so what's the fix?

Hi alabbasi,

Did you intend to include a photo, or to test our psychic powers?

What exactly happened?

Cheers,

Don

Odd, I linked them from my google account but it seems like Google changed the URL or something stupid like that. Here are the attachments.

The end pieces are separate and come off separately. So what happened? As i recall when I was stripping a 94, the rear bumper did not come off quite like i thought it would.... Seems like the body side bolts in the trunk came out first? But then there were body side bolts outside under the bumper too? Please let us know what is going on.

The end pieces appear to be separate but held together with a plastic bracket that broke. The bracket is pretty much the internal structure to the chrome skin. I need to figure out a solution for it. Thanks

Ohhh yes. The guide block. I'm sure I'll get corrected..... but the block is screwed to the fender on the face of a couple of brackets. As I recall the bumper ends slide into the slots and then the other end gets screwed to the main beam. Have a look at the parts blow ups on Barratts site. I find that useful when I forget how to reassemble Stuff. I'll check mine later and confirm or deny.

Another good site for viewing parts diagrams is parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com

You can select your front bumper configuration here:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

And your rear bumper configuration here:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Cheers,

Don

Unless you can repair the side sections, you're going to need two replacements (minus the top chrome). The pieces still attached to the beam are the remains of the side section attachment brackets.
Front and rear bumpers are constructed the same way. If you need to remove a bumper the side sections have to be unbolted and separated from the beam first.
Should be able to get replacements some from a local pick-a-part or eBay. Search for "XJ40 bumper"
