My 1994 XJ6 daily driver has a HUGE problem with standing water in the interior of the car.
Is it possible that there is an issue with some sort of drainage blockage?
Where are the common places for water in large quantities to enter the interior?
Also if there is a lot of water in the footwell, particularly the passenger footwell, could this cause a problem with the car having a miss or even go so far as to cause a non-starting issue?
In particular what does this relay in the passenger's footwell do that has the blue modular plug stuck into it? Standing water in passenger's footwell What is this relay with the blue plug stuck into it?
Take the module out. The description of what it controls and the module part number is written on the front face.
As far as water in the footwells go, there are several entry possibilities. Before I remedied the problem on my own car, water was entering around the grommet aperture where the electrical harness enters the fender well.
From the footwell side, the L & R harness grommets are located behind the fuse boxes. In some cases, these areas can rust significantly.
I haven't any experience with other entry points but I'm sure other members will chime in with other suggestions.

I believe the water is leaking into the car while it's stationary here in my driveway rather than while it is moving down the road.
I was thinking it's probably some plugged drain thing but I don't know enough about the various drains on this car to be able to know which one is most likely or how to unplug it if that is the problem.
Not saying this is your issue for sure, but could be worth a look. The other thing that causes leaks is a blocked plenum/drain tube or a rotted out plenum. Take off the plastic cover in front of the windshield to get access to that area.
Blocked sunroof drain tubes are often blamed for leaks too and they can usually be cleared by pushing some thick weedeater line through. These drain tubes end up in the fender well although you'll have to remove the wheel arch liner to get to the other end.
The other drain tubes are the A/C drains which emanate from the climate control and if these are blocked condensate builds up and eventually spills into the footwells. This is more usually a "summertime" leak though.

Yes. Just a few screws hold it in place. Lift up the hood and remove the wiper arm. Mark the wiper arm position before you remove it though, because even one spline out will lead to annoyances on reassembly!l
The smaller module with the blue connectors is Relay Module M, which controls the seat heaters, key lock solenoid and gear shift solenoid.
The larger module is the passenger seat control unit.
In addition to the grommet and sunroof drains that Larry mentioned, I seem to recall accounts where water was getting in through the blower motor housing air inlets at the firewall, and I think I remember someone having water leaking past the windshield seal.
