So your jag is running flawlessly, transmission is solid and everything is peachy. So you start fiddling around with the little stuff. Like the glove compartment light not working. That's me. First I check the bulb. Then see if power is coming to the bulb, nope. Time to take it apart. Removing everything from the passenger side to get up under there, I find the connector and undo it. I pull out the 4 wired connector from the bulb and switch. I ran power to the bulb and switch all is well. I checked the connector from the car and had no voltage. I look at the connector from the car and one of the female connectors inside was crushed. So I pulled a new connector from another car and wired it in. Still no power from the inside of the car connector. It was baffling me to no end. I checked through the wiring diagrams to see where the power was distributed from and figured this was going to be a nightmare trace. If I ran a ground from the 2 wired connector from under the dash I would get 12 volts but I would blow C2 7.5 fuse. I had enough at around 11p NY time last night and decided to search the forums for someone else who had the same issue. After 40 minutes of reading I came across a post from 08. Headlights must be on for glove compartment light to work. ![Icon Doh](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_doh.gif)
I went out this morning, wired it up, turned on the headlights and bingo light on in the glove box. There you go, now you know.
