89 xj40 fuel tank install...
Ok.....
Fixed 3 pinholes in tank with quicksteel and epoxy.
What's the best.....errr.....easiest way to reinstall this tank ???
I did not remove it...so....I need help here.
Have tried installing with lines connected.
Does not wanna go in all the way.
Do I need to install the tank, then install the fuel lines from underneath??

Fuel tank install
Hi,
I'm going to be doing this work myself next week. Everything I have researched (hours of research) indicates you need to install the tank and reconnect the lines from under the vehicle. The don't have enough flex in them for you to do from above with out causing further damage to the lines. Additionally, I have a set of Jaguar Dealership Repair manuals and the official description of work states to put the vehicle up on ramps to remove and re install the fuel lines from underneath the vehicle. I tried like heck to find a work-around negating the need to get under the car, but there isn't one.
Good luck

WOW - Congrats!!
Talk about karma (for me)..... Maybe I helped fuel your determination (lol)...not!
It just doesn't look like there is enough room to manipulate the lines for connection. Would you mind describing what process steps you took?
Best regards

Got mine in Rob.
Tight fit for arms....but did it.
DO remember before pushing the lines in the "quick Disconnect" spots on the tank to turn your lil c-clips to the left so that the lines will not come back out...lol.
Havent started mine back up yet.....battery is dead...lol.

I laid under the driverside.
used my right hand to maneuver the quick disconnect ends while using my left hand to move the line around.
Arm was BARELY long enough to reach both.
AGAIN!!!
MAKE SURE YOUR C-CLIPS HAVE BEEN TURNED!!
Bad news though......mines starting to leak again.
Dont know if its the spot I fixed or another spot.
Gonna pull it again tomorrow...
