92 Sov engine surge
#41
All right. Here's the update. My constrictor plate Seems to be holding. I have installed new plugs and wires. I am running at throttle plate and TPS out of a 93. I tried this setup previously but without my plate in the egr line it didn't change anything. I drove the car about 40 miles Wednesday when I first reinstalled the correct 92 model year injectors. Yesterday and today I drove the car to work and it *Seems* to be cured of the surge. It starts excellently, which over the course of the 2016 season had been becoming increasingly worrisome. On cold start it runs very rough. This could be the throttle gap, although I never messed with it on either set up I was using. I am not sure yet if I will do anything about it. I also have a FF14 code for coolant sensor. I have changed it twice this year, both times with new units. I will check and repair the wiring as needed. The connector is broken and I have the plugs held on with electrical tape. (Yes I am ashamed) The shifting is a bit odd sometimes after it's hot so I will be looking at fluid level..... But it Runs much better. Thanks again to all you guys for your input.

The connector for the CTS is the same type used on the fuel injectors, O2 sensor, EGR and secondary air injection vacuum solenoids, etc. It's called a Bosch EV1 and you can buy a new one with or without pigtail leads from racing suppliers, tuning specialists, fuel injector refurbishers, etc. Jag-Lovers still haven't restored their large images but maybe the thumbnails and descriptions at the links below will be helpful:
