92 xj6 loosing oil

Yeah 1.5 quarts a hundred miles is a ton of oil to be eating. I agree with transistor, if it is not leaking then it must be going through the cylinders. However with that much oil being burned I would suspect a fair amount of smoke especially on exceleration etc.
I know it is kind of hard to miss a leak like that but be sure it isint leaking from the oil cooler or lines(the oil wont burn here and will only leak under pressure). Also I would check the crank case vent lines just to make sure for some reason it is not frothing up into those lines and getting sucked into the intake.
If you are certain there are no leaks anywhere then it has got to be going into the cylinders somehow. Take a peek at your spark plugs, it will be fairly obvious if they are becoming fouled by oil. Do a compression test as well, it may tell something. I would guess the head gasket has failed somewhere for that much oil to be making it in there.
