Default 93 XJ6 with A/C Problems

I cannot get my 93 Jag to blow cold air. I think it is a Climate Control problem. I think everything to do with the A/C under the Hood is fine.
I am not low on 134 that's not the problem. My pressures are good.
Has anyone else had a similar experience & is it worth the hassle to try & fix it??

It may be that the blend doors are stuck, so the cold air doesn't get routed to the vents ....try searching the forum - I don't think you are the first person to have this problem.

Hi James,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

A couple of questions come to mind:

1. Do you mean that the blower fans are working properly, but the air exiting the vents is not cooled? If one or both fans are not blowing there are some common suspects to check.

2. I assume that because your refrigerant pressures are "good" that the A/C compressor clutch is engaging and disengaging properly, but have you visually confirmed that it is?

3. If the above are all OK, then I second Larry's suggestion of a blend flap problem. The gear motors tend to sieze in position, for example if they have been in a "heat" position all winter. Sometimes you can free them up by tapping on their housings with the handle of a screwdriver while changing the climate control settings to force the motors to run. For more than you will ever want to know about blend flaps, see the photos at these links (sorry that the large images are not currently working):
