93 XJ6 No Start help please
hi,i have a 93 Jaguar xJ6 with no start. There is fuel but no spark.Since there are no places that can test the coil I tested the coils primary resistance it was 0.8 Ohms(is this good or bad) No one here knows how to test the ignition module. How do I test it before spending the money to replace it?Is there a way with a multi meter?Any help would be great.

First I would check all of the connections from the coil to the rotor and then from the rotor to the plugs. Make sure there is nothing inside of the plug boots. Check your coil for carbon tracking. Check the resistance of your plug wires which should be 25,000 ohms. If all of that is good back probe the coil prower lead (negative terminl) on the ignition coil using and LED type tester light. Crank the engine over and observe the test light pulse on and off. If it does not most likely your computer is damaged. Primary resistance of the coil should be 1.0 between the positive and negative terminals. Secondary resistance of the coil between the positive terminal and the high tension terminal should read apporximately 7.34. Make sure you check all your connections for tightness, cuts, corrosion or any other signs of bad connections. Is there spark coming from the coil? Is your distributor on tight, cracked, damaged?
