AC/Heat/Defroster
Hello everyone. I'm Andrew - and this is my first post.
My dad and I recently got a 1990 Jaguar XJ40 in beautiful running condition. The only problems we've had are getting it to pass emissions, and getting the blower motors to kick on. I'm not TOO concerned about the AC, but getting hot airflow into the cab is pretty necessary around here during the winter. Furthermore, we need the defroster to kick on.
Here's where we're at now: the blowers haven't really functioned since we got it, but we can hear the vents turning and the defroster flap moving when we tell it to. We've had a couple of days here and there where really weak air has gotten through the vents, but I think it's because the car was moving and it was just air passing through.
I checked all the fuses possible, and everything's in good shape. I'm glad I got to play around with the Jaguar's VCM, too. Really neat stuff.
What I'm assuming now is that the blower motors themselves are just shot, but I was wondering if there's any more troubleshooting I can do! Vacuum lines? Any relays that could've gone bad?
Please, tell me anything you know that might help!

Try wiring the blowers directly and see if they spin. It is common for them to fail. The motors is an open unit, so the condensation drips inside the motors and causes them to rust. We reuse the old case but install new blower motors and wheels. The motor we use is sealed, so it should be the last time you need to buy one.

There is a core charge of $200 apiece, but that is refunded once we receive your old unit.
