Ok here is the issue
Low Medium settings on the fan do not work.
High Works, so to the demister, but i am not getting any air through the vents, well very small amounts.
I am not feeling any cold or warm through the vents at all.
I am quite mechanically minded but need a heads up to tackle this cheers

The speed control circuitry is located inside each blower. Sounds like both of yours have failed. My car had the same problem when I bought it.
I fixed mine with a lot of help from the forum - if you search the archives for "blower", or "aircon" there are quite a few good threads on this problem, lots of photos and how-to's etc.
If it's any consolation, this is a common issue with the XJ40.
