aj6 ignition timing curve ?
Following on from my twin engined car engine dating fun , i am trying to find out what the stock aj6 ignition timing curve is ,with or without vacumm , i am not fussy .
I am guessing it at around 12 d tickover, plus whatever vacuum advance jag put in there ,and around 28 to 32 d max advance ,again plus vac . if anyone out there knows the actual numbers , that would be very helpful . i am running on lpg , and the way i can create the right curve is to refer to the original ,then modify it .
i know there is an advancing kit one can buy , the amount of advance would be handy to know too ,so i can see what these engines can actually tolerate in the real world .
thank you ,
regards
robert

I think I found some info for you- the engine management system diagnostic pdf (available for download) says 10d in N at 700rpm and 16d in D at 580 rpm. There is also other info there you may want to see if you don't already have it. Since its ignition is all computer controlled, I think any vacuum advance would be through sensors instead of actual.... Hope that is of some use. Good luck.
