Clicking from Gear Shift Box and Stuck in Park
Greetings. My Daimler Double Six has developed an annoying problem that I think might be related to the brake accumulator, brake pad sensor, fuse or . . . ? Help.
When I go to start my car in the morning, the gear shift won't move out of the park position until after about a minute of idling. During this time, the ABS light and brake light will sometimes go on and off. When I turn the ignition I can hear the fuel pump and then the brake accumulator. My foot is on the brake pedal and if I try to move out of park, the gear shift won't budge; it replies with an annoying intermittent clicking sound from the gear box shift. I can also hear a related clicking, though not as loud, in the back boot/trunk.
It is worse in the morning; when I drive home, it remains stuck and clicks for maybe 20 seconds as opposed to a minute or more in the morning.
Is this a fuse issue, brake accumulator issue, pad censor issue? (PAD comes up when I press the VCM) which I believe means one of the two brake pad sensors needs changing. BUT, would it cause this clicking? I have a video, but can't seem to upload an M4V file.
