Dashboard lights alway on
Hello. 1992 Vanden Plas
I realize electrical problems are difficult to diagnose, but thought I'd post the details just in case someone has run into a similar situation.
For some time, my battery was dying after leaving the car parked overnight. At first, I thought I had a weak battery, so I replaced it. For a while, the problem went away, until I left the car parked for an extended period of time. Dead battery. Again!
Finally, one evening, after dark, I noticed the dashboard lights staying on, even with the key out of the ignition. Turning the head lamps switch on/off has no effect. The dashboard lights stay on at all times.
The only way to turn them off, besides disconnecting the battery, is to pull out the 3 amp fuse labeled C4, located on the passenger's (right) side fuse box.
The fuse box cover has the following description; DIMMER/AUX SIDE LPS RELAY AND SIDE LPS POSITIVE RELAY.
If you've run into similar situation or have any tips on troubleshooting, I would really appreciate any tips or suggestions.
Thanks

Palmero,
I had to remove my LLM (light logic module) for a different type of issue, I found poor/bad solder points on several of the leads from the connector and other spots on the board. It's an easy board to remove, may be worth putting your eyes on it for a visual of the solder joints. After all, the LLM does turn the lights off/on.
