Disable/Remove Security System 1991 XJ6
New Jaguar owner here. I’ve searched through the forum and haven’t found what I’m looking for. I recently bought a 1991 XJ6 Sovereign with a factory security system. I think the module has failed because the marker lamps blink every 5 seconds or so when the ignition is off which eventually drains the battery. I’d like to remove the module and delete the security system entirely. Does anyone know where the module is and if it can simply be removed? I’ve looked all through the trunk and it’s not there. It’s also not anywhere under the steering column that I can tell. Any assistance would be most welcome. We’re fixing the car up and intend to raffle it off for charity at our show in June, but I can’t send it out like this

Hi saabstory2003,
You can download the wiring diagrams for your XJ40. On the page before each schematic is a list of all the components and connections and their locations. I know the Security Module connects to the Central Microprocessor (CPU), which controls Central Locking. Hopefully the location of the Security Module is given somewhere in the Electrical Guide:

I am attaching a few TSBs related to the security system.
Cheers,
Don
