Default Do I own a 1988 TWR?

This is a picture of the center hub caps on my 1988 Jaguar, the wheels came with the car when bought. Does it means it is a TWR or could the dealer bought the wheels from Jaguar Sport and installed them on the car just for the look ?

Hi courcywill,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!

I'm no expert on the TWR enhancements, but it does appear that your car has a front air dam and side body moldings similar to those on the car shown at the link below:

Historics at Brooklands - Specialist Classic and Sports Car Auctioneers - 1990 Jaguar XJR TWR 4 0 Sport

I'll be interested to hear what others have to say.

Cheers,

Don

Hi,

The picture of the engine is needed. If it is the genuine TWR it should have a special cam cover and intake manifold.

The engine seems to be the normal one, so the car should be the normal XJ40 with the TWR spoiler/wheel set.

Hi courcywill,

If you are waiting for someone to tell you it's okay to clean your engine and engine compartment, I hereby grant you permission!

If you'll start a new thread titled "How Should I Clean My Engine?" you'll get a lot of helpful suggestions to choose from.

Cheers! :-)

Don
