Free 91’ Daimler
Hi all, I’m giving away my 91’ XJ40 Daimler.
It’s been sitting now for a few years but previous everything worked fine.
Engine, trans etc all ran like a dream though currently not running as fuel pump stopped. It’s happened before and was a dry plug connection in the fuel tank. All electrical worked with no problems. It’s had the coil rear spring conversion.
The problem is rust. It’s completely rusted away around the fuel flap and the right rear windscreen corner is rusted as well as boot lid where the trim was. Boot floor has a bit but more surface rust a easily fixable. No other rust in it as far as I can tell.
I wish I had the time, money and space to restore it as it was a beautiful car to drive and own but I don’t.
I would love to think it’ll be restored but would be happy to know it is being used by a Jaguar enthusiast for parts than just go for scrap.
I’ve given myself a week so if I don’t hear from anybody I’ll have to call the scrap people on June 10th.
Please take it so it doesn’t just go for scrap.
The car is located in Kiama. South Coast NSW.
Thank you,
Troy Axam

Hah! I had low hopes to begin with when I saw "Daimler" after "free" considering that we didn't get any Daimler-badged cars here in the USA, so not really a letdown when I read the location as "NSW". Oh well, it's fun to dream, and I hope the car finds a loving caretaker!
