Fuel Gauge in the Dark
Hi, all.
On the way to work this morning in my 1990 XJ6 Sovereign, I noticed that the light for the fuel gauge was not illuminated. How difficult is it to replace one of these? From the last time I had the underside of the instrument panel taken apart, it seems that there was little to no access to the back side of the gauge cluster. Any help would be appreciated.

The entire instrument panel can come out. If you have the haynes manual, it gives very good instructions. There are 2 harness connections to the panel on the back of it. Facing the instrument panel, the connection on the right is a bit tricky. The screws holding the panel are under the steering column, light switch panel and VCM panel.
