Heater control 1994 XJ6 Sovereign
Hello.
The heater control on my Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign lights up and works when I first start the car, then doesn't work for the rest of the day. Anny suggestions as to what the problem might be?
Thank you.

Hi Clem,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us!
From your description, it is difficult to fully understand how your heater system is malfunctioning. When it malfunctions, do the lights extinguish? Or do the lights remain illuminated, but the controls do not work? Which controls are not functioning properly? Temperature setting? Fan speed? Vent selection? Please give us some more information to give us a chance of helping you.
Cheers,
Don

It is possible you have a problem with an electrical connector that is loose or corroded. Corrosion on ground points is very common. Another common issue with the XJ40 is cold, starved or cracked solder joints in the relay modules and fuse boxes. Not usually difficult to repair by re-flowing and supplementing the solder, but time-consuming to track down. You can download the Electrical Guide at the link below, which will help you see which relays and fuse boxes are involved in your climate control system:
