Actually found a 93 VP in a wrecking yard and have been happily gutting parts before today. Now some ***** cut the hood release cables and the hood is latched shut. I can get to the forward hinges as somebody snagged the grill and aquariums but I can't reach the hood latches through the fender well. Any tricks of the trade without mangling the hood and fenders? I need to get the top end off the engine.

The cables go directly from the latches to the lever at the kick panel. I had mine slip out of the bracket once and was able to grasp them with a vise grip to release the hood and reconnect them. Im wondering if they were actually cut or if they just slipped out of the bracket. in any case maybe you can reach the ends and pull them with pliers?
How are the front seats?

The empty cable housing pulled right out of the firewall, snipped under hood. Seats are probably serviceable but appear very sun faded. Rig sat out in a field for years before junked by the looks of the moss and hornets nests. Sheet metal is real straight, a crying shame to wound any of it. Interior is very gutted except seats.
I'm going to attempt to wrangle the a/c condensor out of the way and go in through the grill opening with a broomstick and push the latches open long distance. It's a real PITA as the yard is an hour away and whatever tools I forgot to bring shut down the day each time.
