Im so pissed. 2 summers ago I went through hell with my drivers window operation, without exaggeration I was back at least 4 times before it become sound and has been working perfectly since then. The last couple days its been acting up though again and this morning it got stuck almost half down...nothing to my knowledge was ever actually replaced for the window problem. I think wires were just tampered with and/or things were adjusted in order to keep it going as it has been for the last 2 years.
So any ideas where I should start? My buddy is a darn good electricain so maybe if I get the door panel off he could help me figure out whats going on? Either way smething needs to be done asap since my a/c doesnt work and were pushing into the 80s and up here in Buffalo this week!!

First, check your fuse! If the other windows work, the problem could be your switch. Check with a volt meter or an LED testlight, if you have power going to the switch and if power goes out from the switch when activated by trying to raise or lower the window. If you have power going out from the switch, most likely you have a defective window motor.

thanks for the info! All my other windows work perfectly from the drivers door control panel so Im hoping it's just the switch although the motor would be my luck. Both make sense though since the driver window trypically gets used the most! Now if it were the switch do I replace just the individual driver switch or are all 4 window button considered one piece?? And how do I go about replacing it if thats it? Thanks again

well i ripped apart the whole door the other day right down to cleaning off allll the contacts under the circuit boards. So i can now rule out switch and fuse. Hooking it back up everything worked perfect except the driver one still! Anywho my next assumption is the motor and I need my buddy to test it to see if theres juice going to it. But where the heck is the motor?? I havent taken the top part of the door panel off yet...is it jammed up in the high part of the door?? I have the haynes repair manual ordered but it wont be in for a couple days.
