Hello

Just a quick question my xj81 won't start stood now 5 month could that be an immobilizer issue fitted? a new battery is fitted as well. If there is an immbolizer issue cuts that the engine out after may 3 turns or does it turn more times and even won't start. Can I reset the immbolizer but I never had an immobilizer.

Hi Jean,

If I understand your description, the starter motor does rotate the engine at least a few rotations before it stops. If you had an immobilizer issue, the starter motor would not be enabled and the engine would not rotate at all.

Common causes of your symptoms include corrosion or looseness at critical battery power or ground connections, such as the bulkhead/firewall battery power jump post, the engine ground strap, the battery ground cable connection to the body, etc. I am attaching the Electrical Guide to help you find and clean all these connections.
