I just purchased a 1988 XJ6 Sovereign and the 3amp Instrument panel fuse on the L/H side kick panel is blowing, the battery charge light is flashing however the battery is charging at 13.9v. And the circuit failure warning for 1,2 and 3 has been constantly flashing yet the only fuse that is blown is the 3 amp instrument panel fuse.
Does any one have any suggestions?

 

I was lucky to find a fix for this one. I removed the l/h side foot well fuse box and could not find any faults, so I refitted the fuse box and replaced all the fuses however the 3 amp instrument fuse did not blow and has not blown since. All warning lights are no longer flashing and the battery charge gage is working fine. In addition the keyless entry has now started to work, I had assumed that the keyless entry was a separate problem.
Sometime you just get lucky!
