Interior light problem, 1994 xj6
I have a problem with the interior lights in a 1994 xj6. Up until a day or two ago, the interior lights (on overhead and doors) have been coming on when any door is opened. They would stay on for a proper amount of time( tells me that the timer is ok), then go out. I replaced the rear door speakers, and the lights quit working only after a replacement of the speaker on the left rear door. The overhead (overhead console) lights still come on when using the dash (near radio) mounted switch, so I believe the fuse is ok. Of course the timer is not involved when using that particular switch. The small "map" light on the overhead console also works when the switch for it is used. Any ideas as to why the lights would not work when a door is opened? Anything to knock/pull loose in that left rear door? Only had the lower part of the door card off. Thanks, David.
