¡Hola, Patricio!
Jerry's suggestion is a good one - you can try to find a good used transmission from a wrecking yard, salvage yard, junkyard, scrapyard, breaker's, or desarmadero.
If your car has a 3.6 litre engine, the transmission is probably the ZF 4HP22, which was used not only in the Jaguar XJ40s, but in several models from BMW, Land Rover, Peugeot, Volvo, and others, including the Chevrolet Opala that was sold in South America. This should increase your chances of finding a good used transmission in the Buenos Aires area..
And since this transmission was used in so many autos, any good transmission repair shop that services ZF transmissions should be able to repair yours.
Can you tell us exactly what is wrong with your transmission?
Cheers,
Don
