That Jammed Shifter...

That Jammed Shifter...
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this problem? My 1993 XJ Sovereign's shifter will occasionally jam in park. The quick fix, is to simply yank on the shifter which seems to free it, but given the amount of force required, I'm sure this is not desireable. Is this a known concern, or is it something I need to have looked at?
Thanks for any feed back.

RE: That Jammed Shifter...
The fix I'm unsure of, but to prevent this from happening again do this:
1) When you are in drive, about to park, put the car in neutral and for just a sec let go of the brake.
2) Now with the brake pressed in, pull the Emergency Brake up and now put the car in park.
You'll now see how much easier it is to put the car in drive again. Good luck, and come back and let us know what you think!
