Default Leaking heater hose

I have a leaking heater hose, running from the heater valve at the back of the engine to the bulkhead pipe. I've ordered a replacement, but what would the cabin heater/ac control settings would need to be set to turn the heater valve off to stop water into the leaking pipe (until the new pipe arrives and goes on)

Close the valve and block off the other hose??

You can clamp the return hose from the bulkhead and the valve should keep the other hose sealed.

APPLY VACUUM.(it is normally OPEN)

'zip-tie' the lever in the closed position?
