My my my...
The gears in my brain never cease to stop as I'm always coming up with new plans...lol.
So check this out. Considering gas prices are nearing $4 a gallon and def will be that if not more all summer I've def decided on what I'm going to do. Out of all my Cherokees and present one they rarely get more than 15-16 mpg and I have no purpose for 4wd until next winter comes around again. So I was in the middle of a toss up between an 99-01 Audi A4 or a 88-89 BMW 325ix because they both get WAY better mpg (round 30 on BMW) and both have AWD so if all else fails and cant sell at end of summer I still have AWD for winter!
Considering if I ever sold the Jag and Jeep I was going to buy a 2001 Audi S4...theyre so gorgeous...but the regular A4 is the next best thing with high miles and around 4 grand. I have done mad research on carsurvey.org and multiple Bimmer & Audi forums to see how reliable and potential problems would ocurr in either car. A4's will be more pricey especially with their **** attention that's needed for timing belts and tensioners which are VERY pricey as Ive now seen.
But the E30 Bimmer, aka 3-series from 80's and very early 90's. specifically the 325ix model, ix means AWD for Bimmer models. In the late 80's the 325ix was right below the famous M3 model and the AWD models were also very rare too, especially the 2 door version. I've read nothing but GREAT things about this car and they're supposed to be beats in the snow and sit relatively high for a car. I've def decided Im going to find one and in a 500 mile search radius of Buffalo I found 1 of 2 on autotrader. Check this out, this car is so unique and has major maintentance done to it from previous Bimmer enthusiast owners!! It's value is really around 3000 so I'm tryin to talk the guy down.
Check it out, this is the exact one Im looking at!

RE: My my my...
haha oh yes cadillac. bimmer indeed. idk if I ever mentioned it but my second car was a 1990 caddy deville with 50K original miles...i LOVED it, she was such a tank! But then I sold it to get the Jag! lol. My younger brother is trying to sell his Jeep to get one of those Devilles again and I've been helpin him look for one. The "touring sedan" version is my personal version of those 1990-1993 devilles

Nice 325ix. Looks like it is quite clean.
The worst thing about making a car a daily driver, or even worse- a winter car. Is that it will never be as clean and mint as it once was. I hate daily driving any of my good cars, especially in the winter.
For last winter I picked up an Isuzu Trooper 4cyl 4x4 that did excellent for me, and will tow my boat this summer, and am quite confident it will tow my car trailer with a small-medium sized car in tow.
But I don't dare drive any of my collection in the winter.
I just ridmyself of a mint 1983 Cadillac Seville slant back with only 17,000 original miles. Probably one of the most garbage made vehicles I have ever owned. I'm pretty much through with domestic made vehicles. Too low quality, too many problems, and all too common.

RE: My my my...
Yea I know whay you mean kreal, I hated the fact that I had to drive my Jag for those 5 months of winter when I first bought it a few years back but I was obligated that summer to find a winter truck, which lead me to my whole Cherokee craze (had 1/2 dozen almost in last couple years) I absolutely love them...just sold my 91 Laredo with 64K original miles on it and am working on a 95 country cherokee that needed some bodywork, it'll be for sale in less than a week...I talked the guy waaay down a couple weeks ago and she is just shining now!! I,m just getting to the point where I want my second year round vehicle for winter and such to be as nice as my jag...haha.
And believe me...that 325ix would be BABIED all thoughout winter if I ended up with her!
