Default No Audable Warnings

Hope someone can help. All of a sudden my 1993 XJ40 has stopped all audable warnings (i.e not in park, lights left on, directional indicators etc). I assume these sounds are produced by the small speaker mounted on the drivers side dash liner, I have traced where the speaker is connected, the box arrowed red. The speaker is ok as it has a standard 3.5mm jack and tested on my phone, can someone tell me what is the box the speaker is plugged into and could this be the problem for the lack of sound or is the problem likly to be elsewhere.

Regards

Please replace the 66mm 64OHM .3 to.5 Watt loudspeaker in the steering column upper shroud.

Jaguar part is expensive but you can solder the wires to a replacement and save money.

Thank you Motorcarman and Marc(Sovejag13190) for the advice, the speaker was damaged and replaced, it is now working.
