Out for a drive (the long way home)
Okay, well I've tried shooting a video through the windshield, (not so good, lots of reflection) so yesterday I clamped the camera to the passenger window. Not Bad!!
This is the trip back from the flea market held at the speedway in Victoria British Columbia.
After leaving the market you have two choices - Turn left and sit in a long line of traffic through the gauntlet of big-box store on ramps and endure 5 sets of lights and move that 1/2 mile to the highway in 1/2 hour - OR - go right and take the twist little drive through the highlands.
In a Jag, that's no choice at all!!
Here's yesterday's video:
cheers guys

"brit's on the beach" ...Is that a Qualicum thing Jim? Details??
#7
Nah,the Qualicum thing starts this friday, and goes to sunday, huge car show, but it's hard to even get near it with so many cars.
Mostly the hot rod guys, not many British cars.We have something else going on that day anyway.
Brit's takes place at transfer beach,in Ladysmith and it's FREE!
Go to the "Old English Car Club" site for details,I think it's on the 12th of July.
Cheers,Jim and Cin

Nice camera work Larry. You'll have to take us there when Jim & I head that way.
The Qualicum show'n shine is tomorrow, last I heard there were over 550 cars registered. I went for a cruise through downtown Nanaimo earlier today and did see several sweet cars parked around.
Jim is excited about the Brits On The Beach in Ladysmith on July 12, so we are most likely attending....with one or more of our Jags....free event, 9 til 3 I think, great food, beach right there, would love to meet some of you local owners there...upwards of 250 cars and bikes....fun fun fun.

Hi Cin, there's a Brit care show down here in Victoria today too, so no need to go up to Qualicum I guess! Same here, lots of noticeably clean old jags and morgans cruising around town yesterday.
The show is called "Father's day picnic in Beacon Hill park" - it's put on by the same guys that do brits on the beach etc, the old britcar club. It's actually just across the street from my place so I'll def be going - will take a few snaps and post them later.
I just might show up at Ladysmith, sounds like a good day out and if the food is as good as the April show out in Saanich (again Brit car club event) then it WILL be great!
Here's a few shots of the April meet up in Saanich, see if you can spot my car!

Went for another drive yesterday, headed up to Duncan on the highway and managed to get off the main road - cut down through riverbottom road along the Cowichan river to the old logging village of Paldi then on to Lake Cowichan, Mesachie Lake then across the Island to Port Renfrew - great road, no traffic!
Down the west coast through Jordan River and Sooke then cut through the mountain on Humpback Valley road to Goldstream park (single lane, crazy road) then onto Millstream road and then along another single lane mountain road to Brentwood bay, then to Sidney and back to Victoria. 320km, almost all off the main highways.
Even the missus enjoyed it!!
