Poly upper shock bushings

Poly upper shock bushings
Ive had my XJ since 2011 and have replaced the upper shock bushings 3x and now going on a 4th. The first 2x I used the URO brand because they were easily available and they lasted a little over a year. The last time I replace the shocks and IIRC I put on Bilstiens and they came with new bushings and they have held out the longest.
Now its time again and the only thing readily available are the URO. Im going to order a set as they are super cheap (prob why they are crap) and get the measurements from them.
I used to have a Volvo and they had a High performance support company called IPD and they have sway bar end link kits that use a very similar poly bushing.

Any one have this issue and find a better solution?

Might be an off the wall idea Jeh, but how about buying some poly and pouring your own? I've thought about doing that for different things here and there ..
The mould looks easy enough to make!
It's a pretty simple process, (see Youtube etc) but does take a couple of weeks for the stuff to set up ..

Hi Jeh,
Are you saying that you've been using the black hard rubber bushings or polyurethane versions and they are failing that quickly? In my experience even the OE yellow foam rubber bushings should last at least a few years. Is it possible you are missing any of the locating cup washers or flat washers that support and protect the bushings (parts 9 & 11 plus the flat washer below nut part 6)?
SNG Barratt has an aftermarket version of the OE yellow foam bushings for $5.71 each:
SNG Barratt - The Ultimate Jaguar Parts Specialist
Welsh Enterprises has black ones for $5.95 each or $19.95 for a set of four:
Welsh Enterprises, Inc - Jaguar XJ6(88-94) / XJ40 Front Suspension Parts - Front Shock Bushing
I would imagine that Coventry West and Jagbits have equivalent offerings.
But I have to admit, I like Larry's idea of pouring your own, just to be able to say that you did!
Cheers,
Don

Thanks for input. All the parts are in place. I think its the dirt road I live on is bit harder on the bits that even potholed streets.
I did look at the factory but hadn't seen the that SNG does offer a Poly bushing at 8X the price vs Rubber But maybe if it lasts longer???
Either way its a though. but may have to wait. I just dropped $800 on tires for my wifes Jeep, My F150 needs The same tires, a windshield and a clutch with trans repair So mu allowance has been spent for the next few months.
