Hi guys,

I've a jaguar xj40 sovereign 1993.

9 times out of 10 the Radio, Air-conditioning and Seat movement (with the doors closed), doesn't work.
The security light on the radio is flashing.

(If the doors are open the seats can be moved).

I've only got two keys for the vehicle without remote function, (I can only mechanically open and lock doors).

Every now and then after starting the car the security light on the radio goes off and the radio turns on, aerial goes up, air-conditioning starts working and the seats are able to move again.

The valeting switch is set to turn the security system off.

I presume this is an intermittent fault and the equipment mentioned should always work from entering the car with the key.
I can only conclude that there is something wrong with the security system cutting these functions out randomly.

I've checked and cleaned all fuses and found no problems there.

Has anyone had this problem before or know where I should start looking for this problem?
