Radio Dash Kit for 91' XJ40
I just purchased a low cost radio for my 91 Sovereign with Bluetooth and Flash Drive play technology. I have someone installing it for me, but he said I need to get the appropriate dash kit adapter (standard size), not supplied with the radio. Anyone have any link to this?

You could look here on the bay. Lots of install kits. Not sure if you want a single Din mount or double Din mount. They are all in the list of kits.

Jagbro,
I did find this on the bay. It's for a 1993 XJ40. It may work - you are right, they are hard to find.

I installed a Single-DIN JVC headunit in my '92 Sovereign, and I didn't need an adapter at all. My radio is set in the console, which helps with glare on the screen, and gives me a little "tray" of sorts in front of the faceplate to put glasses or such. I suppose I could've used an adapter to keep the radio face flush with the rest of the console, but I think I prefer it the way I did it, without the adapter. Also, it allows for ample room to insert and remove CDs while the gear shift is in park.

Hi Jagbro,
Glad the link to the radio adapter looked good. I would be interested in some pictures of your install after the radio is in.
I used to have a 1991 XJ6 Sovereign and always wanted to change the radio, but back then there wasn't such an adapter.
Thanks, quarkdude

Hey, QD. Here's the install. Fit is a little loose top to bottom, but I will bolster it with a thin rubber shim. Otherwise, I'm pleased with the install and the ability to play music from my MP3 device...

Sorry for the delay on replying here. The install looks great and you get a some nice other options on music media with that deck. I'm glad that adapter worked out for you. How's the new head unit sound in the car - I bet very nice.
Two thumbs up and a job well done.
