Random Fuse Warning light & Alarm proplem
When approaching home the fuse warning light came on but would disappear when breaking, once parked up checked VCM Fuse 1 reported on display, After checking all fuses with probe all good swapped a couple that looked a bit crusty. Fuse warning light still came on, decided to check systems running through the fuse box i can, car started, everything seems to work ok air con, horn etc this time the warning light goes out when headlights switched on, I decided to completely swap out all fuses with new & rechecked with probe all good, and repeated the process again, warning light still on, finally while i left the engine running I left the car for a few minutes on return the light was out. I dont know if its related but there was a lot of condensation in the car this morning but seems odd the problems were on returning home rather on my way out.
Also during this fuse light problrm the alarm is playing up, car locked/alarmed as normal while out shopping, once home locked car and cherped an extra 3 times & LED light flashing as normal, this was repeated a couple more times, then the final time before checking the above fuse problem it cherped 6 times with no flashing LED. When I decided to call it a day, the alarm cherped 25 times with flashing LED which is repeated every 5 or so minutes, ended up switching to valet mode to prevent it going on all night.
A bit long winded I know just didn't want to miss out anything I did that might be relevent
Any ideas
Philip

Could this fall into the category of "weird electrical gremlins caused by dying battery?" Usually when fuses blow things Stop working instead of working too much....
You said condensation and not rain, so unless it got wet inside some other way like a carwash, i would doubt water to be the issue. Maybe check your grounds, and the headlight relay. Im not sure if the lights flash with the alarm, but if they do then that may be a common ground?

Hi Philip,
A very common issue on the XJ40 is cracked solder joints inside the fuse boxes. You can usually remove the fuse box and re-flow and supplement the solder joints to rectify the issue. I think there may be some photos of this process in the albums at the link in my signature.
Cheers,
Don
