Rear Hub

I purchased a used pair of rear hubs to install on the 1990 XJ40.
Prior to this purchase, I had removed the 2 rear hubs and replaced the bearings.
I am about to remove them again to install the refurbished hubs (I am taking them to a machine shop to install the spline type lugs as found in the front).
However, i cannot get the cone shaped locating collars off the old hubs.
I have worked on both sides and as one would expect, these collars should separate from the hub upon removal. That did not happen in my case on either of the hubs when I removed them to replace the bearings.
Any ideas on how to separate the cone shaped collars from the hub?
Here is a pic of one of the hubs I purchased. It only came with one of the cone shaped collars.

Hi sanchez,
I haven't had that problem before so I can only guess at what might work. I think I would try soaking the rims of the conical locating collars in penetrating oil (Kroil, PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench - not WD40) to see if that would loosen the bond with the hub.
If the inner rim of the collar can be grabbed by a pilot bearing puller, that might work.
If neither of the above ideas works, I would try quickly heating the collars with a propane or MAPP gas torch to see if causing the collar to expand faster than the hub would allow it to break free from the hub. You just don't want to get any of the parts too hot, which could affect their temper.
Cheers,
Don
