Repair of rear window privacy shades?

I have a set of the rear window privacy shades and one of them no longer retracts into its base. They are from a parts car so they are already removed from the rear deck/parcel shelf. I searched the archives and couldn't find anything about repairing the rectract function. I'm guessing a broken or worn out spring or something. Any insight on this job before I try pulling one apart? TIA.

I don't recall anyone ever posting photos of a privacy shade repair. On the X350s the rear sun shade tends to seize in the retracted mode and many owners have been able to work the mechanism loose with a judicious application of WD40, or better yet, silicone spray. If you decide to disassemble your shade, please take some photos and post them here for the benefit of others.
Cheers,
Don
