Simple heater fix.
So as the temperatures dropped I noticed my heat was not what it once was and was supecting a stuck or sticking upper blend door motor.
I would get hot air from the floor vents but actually cold air on the dash and defrost vents making the car a little on the chilly side when it was getting in the high 40's on the way home and outright uncomfortable in the mornings. The last few days had been in the 20'2 so I just left the car at home.
I finally got around to looking at the climate system and was going to dig into removing the passenger air bag and mounts to get to the upper blend door motor and see whats up.
I decided to remove the upper vents and try and take a look with a mirror or boroscope first and found the problem.....
Last spring the upper vacuum motor for the center vents stopped working and I found a nice fix from Don B. I think about just using a lenght of hose to keep the doors wedged open.. Well apparently my hose was just a touch too long and it was keeping upper blend door jammed open.
Shorten the hose and blissful heat from the vents and defroster. Sooo Nice.
