Hello:

So sorry for two questions in one day.

My car has already been converted to conventional rear shock absorbers, and the SLS system has been disconnected at the rear. I am curious as to whether or not I can just go ahead and remove the valve-block, oil tank, and other related items from the engine bay. I searched this forum and did not come up with an answer. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks so much.

Since there are THREE iterations of XJ40, you need to put MAKE, MODEL, YEAR in the post.
I see a 1989 XJ40 in the signature, is this the car you are asking about?

NO you cannot remove the pump for your power brake system.

Many people ask questions about cars they just bought or are NOT in the signature.
I am guessing it is the 1989 XJ40 and as I stated, the same pump for the SLS is used as the power booster for your brakes.
Some people have deleted the pump and put earlier Series III vacuum boosters in the XJ40.

Thanks!! And yes, unlike yourself, I only have one Jaguar, LOL

Doesn't that suck that all that complicated stuff has to remain?

It does not need to remain if you convert to an earlier vacuum system.
Many forum members have done the conversion.

I thought about converting my 1992 XJ40 (TEVES electric pump motor system) but I sold it when several X300s and X308s were available for CHEAP and I moved to later cars. (1995 onward went back to vacuum)

The 3.6 cars are easier to swap to the vacuum system.
