So I change the stereo in my XJ
A few years ago I replace the head unit in my XJ so I could have AUX IN functionality and play my then Zune now iPhone into the stereo without having a tape adapter.
I had a Kenwood head unit and what I like was the simple looking design and that it had a rear aux in so I could route the cable under the console and have it coil up in the ashtray.
Kind of like this. (not mine)
Fast forward a few years and now I though it would be nice to incorporate a headunit with bluetooth. I came across a single DIN head unit with a 7 inch touch screen. It was not working correctly and was free. I took it apart to see if I could fix it and found a loose ribbon cable so I gave it a shot at installing it.
Im not a real fan of obnoxious lighting and like the clean look of the XJs dash at night vs some more modern cars that are lit up like a Christmass tree in the dark ad this unit will handle most of its functions with the screen closed.
Here's what I came up with.
