Speaker Replacement Plug and Play Suggestions

If you want true "plug and play" compatibility, believe it or not the OEM speakers are still available:

DBC6220
↳ LNA4140BA
But they aren't inexpensive. If someone has an aftermarket replacement that is a good match in impedance, power efficiency, power rating and mounting to the original, that would be good to know.

aftermarket speakers
I replaced the speakers in my '92 a few years ago. These aren't the exact speakers that I have but I purchased a similar version and have not had any problems:

You have to remove the factory connector and the screw holes aren't perfectly aligned but it took about 10 minutes to install each one once the door panel was removed.
