Great bike you have there, should save you a fortune on fuel
The last RR I had of this type had a stonking great Perkins Diesel Back Hoe engine.
Max revs about 1900, coupled to a 4sp man with Fairey overdrive.
16 forward and 4 reverse.
Had to manufacture spacers in the front suspension below the springs, to get the thing of its knees.
Ran great off road, just chugged up anything in its path on BFG Mud terrains.
The guys always knew it was me, bop, bop, bop, bop,.
Under water was a hoot. (snorkel fitted of course).
Always carried a spare diff in the back, used to eat them for fun!!
Still miss that one, feelings are starting to stir again

ArmyJag,
I'm a little surprised your kitty didn't pee in the driveway since she got displaced by your daughter's bike.
In case you want more power:

All you need is money. However, 630 hp would make the Jaguar get up and go.

I had a Black 1991 Range Rover before this one. It unfortunately was taking on water while I was deployed, and in true Land Rover fashion it found a way to leak it out by rusting large holes in the floor boards. So I replaced it, with the white Hunter Edition in the pictures.
She has a 3.9, I would love to swap in a 200/300 tdi but they are really expensive to find over here and unfortunately I don't know any cool kids across the pond to get one picked up and shipped cheap lol.
For the power pick me up in the Jag, I found a 90k mile LT1 350 out of a 98 Camaro with the 6 speed manual and it's been nagging at me that it would be a fun combo.
Recently though I re-did the headliner in the Jag, fixed a few leaks under the hood and have a few more to go lol. I've got the parts to convert the rear suspension from the load leveling to standard. That will wait for winter when she goes in the garage and the Range Rover takes over daily drive duties.
The Rover, is getting 3" rovertym lift springs bilstien 7100 remote reservoir shocks 32" BFG AT's and so on

Oh and for the record the Jag has been peeing in the drive, the power steering and hydraulic systems seem to both be leaking a bit.
Thanks, not to shabby for a 22 year old that was purchased for less than $1,000

Seriously, the Jag is looking great, don't know why you have been looking for a trunk lid (your's is better than mine).
I put the 3.9 in my S1 86 coiler chassis no 998 (built by yours truly)
If I comment any more about the RR I will probably have to ban myself!
But over here, size matters, the TDI's just don't seem to have the displacement.

The underside of the trunk lid is rusted to bits. You can see it starting to break through on the driver corner of the lid. The paint is also in shabby shape on the lid.
The 3.9 I find to be a bit underpowered in the RRC it also gets crummy gas mileage. I would love the diesel with the double the gas mileage and from the one I drove performance that isn't much worse. So I'm saving my pennies and someday I will have a 300 tdi.
I wouldn't worry about banning yourself it's all British love.

Both the '90 and '96 XJ6s I had leaked power steering fluid. For the '90 I usually carried a spare bottle of Castrol Mineral Oil. Back in 1999 I had to drive from CA to VA due to a job transfer. I stocked up six bottles, but only had to use three of them. Other than that the car ran great. Just set the cruise control on 80 mph and relaxed. Oddly enough the trip computer calculated the mpg fairly accurately at that speed, but at 60 mph it lost its mind.
One thing I did try and this is not a school solution, is to add a capful of brake fluid to the power steering fluid. Apparently it caused the seals to expand enough to slow down the leak.
At least for the '96 I could use regular transmission fluid which was quite a bit cheaper.

You might want to make sure I wasn't the source of the other thread. Also, I found this site that has repair kits for steering racks. You might be able to do a relatively low cost repair as opposed to swapping out a rack which is around $700 with a core exchange.

Not sure rebuiliding my rack is something I would want to tackle. I might just go with a rebuilt one from the zone at $195.00. Although repairing it for $50.00 is tempting.
I need to finish up all the updates on the Range Rover so it's ready to go for winter so I can have the Jag down to get everything squared up on it.

it just all depends on how cheap, I'm feeling at the time. I'm really starting to read up on the 350 conversion. The power would be awesome, and it would certainly add a fun factor. As underpowered as the 3.6 is it has such a great sound when it's pushing 4-6k rpm so it seems like it would be a shame to pull that heart out of her.
