Default Subframe Broken - RESOLVED

Hello!
The front subframe on my XJ40 4.0L is badly rusted and broke. I'm now looking for a replacement.
I have found these parts on eBay and an Austrian eBay-esque site but I'm not sure if it will fit since it's from a 3.2.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jan

Hi, the key here is when Jaguar widened the front chassis legs so the new subframe would accept the v12. If your battery is in the boot your need the later version, and vice versa. As per the previous post from Roger 95 have a look at the part numbers.

Thank you very much.
Seems like the V12 version also has major visual differences judging by the Jaguar site. So I'm pretty sure the parts listed on eBay will fit.

Hi, my apologies but I perhaps did not explain this correctly. The later ( battery in boot) cars had wider front chassis legs to accept the V12 subframe and at the same time a revised 6 cylinder subframe was introduced. The v12 and 6 cylinder parts are not interchangeable, and a later 6 cylinder subframe will not fit a pre1993 (battery under bonnet) car and vica versa. Hope this makes things a bit clearer!
