TRW mineral oil vs. Pentosin CHF
Hello all,
I have an 88 xj6 and my hydraulic fluid for the booster and ride levelling has run low. I was wondering your thoughts on draining the reservoir and using Pentosin CHF fluid rather than TRW as I live in Canada and that stuff is hard to find here and I Would rather not pay the 60 dollars for a litre of the stuff to order it off amazon or ebay.

If I had a 1988/89 XJ40 and need hydraulic fluid I would probably opt for Pentosin CHF 7.1 Mineral Oil.

The CHF 11S is synthetic but the CHF 7.1 is regular mineral based.
I do remember when I went to A&P school 30 years ago we used Mil Spec 5606 that was RED but smelled EXACTLY like the Castrol 5966 fluid.
